About Me
Hello, I'm Swakhar Poddar, a Software Engineer, Entrepreneur and Tech Enthusiast based in Vancouver, BC. I enjoy writing codes to solve problems and to have a positive impact. My Goal is to always build products to solve the complications around us and to make us the most advanced species in the Universe.
I am currently a CS undergraduate student at The University of British Columbia (UBC) , minoring in Data Science & expecting to graduate in May 2023. Fast-forward to today, and I’ve had the privilege of working , at a huge corporation, in multiple roles at my university, and in my own startup.
I am also working with UBC to design a course on Blockchain Development - Web3 for the academic term Jan 2023 - April 2023. More details COMING SOON.

Opening Restaurant Business Analysis using Machine Learning
This project focuses a solution of Business problem with Machine Learning. In this project I collected information of Toronto and after processing used Foursquare API to get more information. After, I used Visualization & Unsupervised Learning K-means to cluster the neighbourhoods to produce some useful insights.

Created an Android App, that can be used to book a sitter for babies, pets and care aid people instantly. Its the Uber of Baby Sitter Industry. Done in Android Studio and Android SDK.

Created a program that takes the link of the post, your credentials and comments different type of messages on that post as many times you want. Used Python with Selenium.

Throughout my journey, at UBC and even at high school I always look forward to stepping out and do something for the community and the institute. These are few important activities I am doing or did in the journey: Designing a course with UBC on Blockchain Development - Web3 (2022), Executive Member of the UBC Video Game Development Club, & UBC Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Club (2017-2019), Volunteer & Leader for The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (2014-2017).
Sustainability Award - UBC - SUO - For winning the water bottle share program competition, was awarded $1500 for making the scaleable-economic tech solution.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Award - The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - For completing 3 years with excellent Team leadership and Voluntary Services (2015 - 2017). The Daily Star (2017, 2015) & Pearson High Achievers Award (2014) - For High Achievement in IGCSE & A'Levels - Awarded to Top 3% of the Country's result holders.
